Invitation for Recovery Research Study

5/31/2016

Dr. Jesse GrahamDr. Jesse Graham, Associate Professor of Psychology at the University of Southern California, recently solicited my help in letting people know about a research study that he is leading. Dr. Graham is studying how transformative experiences influence the resolution of significant alcohol and other drug problems. Here is his invitation to those who would be willing to participate in the study.

We're interested in hearing about people's experiences in addiction and recovery. If you are aged 18 or older, believe you have ever been addicted to drugs, alcohol, or another substance, and you have substantially reduced or entirely stopped use at any point, you are eligible to participate in our study. The study consists of an online and completely anonymous survey. We estimate that the study will take between ten and twenty minutes. Participation is voluntary. Here is the link to the survey: https://usc.qualtrics.com/SE/ SID=SV_bPC9XJshl4MBatL

If you have any questions, you may contact Dr. Graham at addictionexperiencestudy@gmail.com

Readers familiar with my writings know that I have championed the need for research on the prevalence, pathways, styles, and stages of long-term personal and family recovery. I will continue to support such research, and I encourage my readers to take the time to contribute to what we know about the recovery process from the standpoint of science. Participating in such studies is another way of sharing our stories and passing it on.
