CHS Home > Services > Research & Training > GAIN Home Page > GAIN-QM Global Appraisal of Individual Needs - Quick Monitoring (GAIN-QM) The Global Appraisal of Individual Needs - Quick Monitoring (GAIN-QM) is a follow-up instrument for use every 90 days after the GAIN-Q (Full or Core). The instrument is composed of a subset of items from the GAIN-Q. The items measure behavior during the past 90 days, chiefly in terms of the number of days. An item on current fears of victimization is answered on a Yes/No scale, and the entire Service Utilization scale from the GAIN-Q is embedded. At four pages, the instrument takes approximately 10 minutes to complete. Version 2.6 of the GAIN-QM can be administered on paper or interactively in the GAIN Assessment Building System (GAIN ABS). Version 2.5 of the GAIN-QM can be administered on paper or interactively in the Assessment Building System (ABS). Future versions will create a narrative report of the results.
