Women frequently face significant barriers to engaging in treatment, and may have difficulty balancing the demands of motherhood and interpersonal relations with the tasks required to participate in a comprehensive intervention. Women referred to treatment by the Department of Human Services and the Department of Children and Family Services may be eligible for services from experienced community outreach workers. Women's Outreach workers can provide the following services:

• Coordination of screening and referral among DCFS, DHS, and Chestnut Health Systems
• Provide client-focused case management that addresses barriers to engaging in treatment
• Transport clients to treatment and related appointments
• Complete home visits and follow-up contacts with women who fail to enter treatment, or who drop out of treatment
• Link clients to community services
