(PDF document, 649 KB) Sample G-RRS Report produced using FULL GAIN assessment (PDF document, 30 KB) Sample G-RRS Report produced using CORE GAIN assessment (PDF document, 133 KB) Supporting psychometrics, crosswalks, scales, publications, and naming conventions Most Recent CSAT plus Independent/Regional GAIN-I Norms - (Updated 12/22/2011) provides basic demographic information and normative psychometric data (mean, N, standard deviation, and Cronbach's alpha) for GAIN scales in a series of worksheet tabs for all records, Adolescents (age 12-17), Young Adults (age 18-25) and Adults (age 18 and higher). Within each age category, demographics are presented first, followed by overall norms, then intake norms by gender, race and age. Norms for GSS and GQ version 3 scales calculated from GAIN-I data are also provided for each age group. Most Recent GAIN Norms and Psychometric Tables - (Updated 09/22/2011) provides basic demographic information and normative psychometric data (mean, N, standard deviation, Cronbach's alpha and intraclass correlations) for GAIN scales in a series of worksheet tabs for all records, Adolescents (age 12-17), Young Adults (age 18-25) and Adults (age 18 and higher). Within each age category, demographics are presented first, followed by overall norms and ICC including across follow-up waves, then intake norms by gender, race and age, followed by outcomes based on National Outcome Monitoring (NOMS). Norms for GSS and GQ version 3 scales calculated from GAIN-I data are also provided for each age group. GAIN Preliminary Psychometrics ERI2_CSAT2006 provides preliminary tables on the psychometrics of the GAIN including adult norms from the Early Re-Intervention (ERI-2) study for adults and the CSAT Adolescent Treatment 2006 data for adolescents. GAIN-I Scales and Variables - (Updated 11/01/2011) A listing of the major scales and indices from the Global Appraisal of Individual Needs-Intake including scale name, variable name, time period, GAIN-I items used, if the scale is available at follow up and if so the M-90 items used, number of items, scale type and cut points, purpose, short description, interpretation, references (if applicable) , syntax, full text items and additional comments. Also now includes a list of scales by purpose and separate tabs for scales/indices, substance related variables and other additional variables. GAIN-Q Scales and Variables - (Updated 1/18/2008) Following the format of the GAIN-I Scales and Variables, this is a listing of the major scales and indices from the Global Appraisal of Individual Needs-Quick (Ver 2.5) including scale name, variable name, time period, GAIN-I items used, number of items, pages, scale type and cut points, purpose, short description, interpretation, references, syntax, full text items and additional comments. Includes a similar listing of additional created variables for use in reports and references specific to the GAIN-Q. GAIN Publications - (Updated 10/31/2011) This is a list of published articles and presentations that used GAIN data in their analyses. If you have published an article using GAIN data, please let us know at gaineval@chestnut.org, so that we may add your work to our list. GAIN CSAT Publications - (Updated 10/31/2011) This subset of the GAIN Publications list includes presentations and published articles that used GAIN data from CSAT grantees. GAIN-Quick Bibliography - (Updated 10/31/2011) This subset of the GAIN Publications is a list of bibliographical information (publications and presentations) for the GAIN-Quick (GAIN-Q) GAIN Short Screener Bibliography - (Updated 10/31/2011) This subset of the GAIN Publications is a list of bibliographical information (publications and presentations) for the GAIN-Short Screener (GSS) Naming Conventions - For files and items, scales, and indices on the GAIN instruments and corresponding variables within SPSS datasets. Missing value codes are also included. Crosswalk of GAIN Items - A listing of each GAIN item or scale with information about its status as a CORE item, a Treatment/Clinical item (non-CORE), or a Recommended item (non-CORE), as well as information regarding the purpose for/source of the item and any comments regarding its use. GAIN Data Base Specification and Question by Question (QxQ) Specifications Lists the data base and question by question specifications for the various versions of the GAIN-I and GAIN-M. CSAT Annual Briefing Book Slides - (Updated 7/20/2011) This is a set of three parallel power point presentations that provide descriptive information on the most current Summary Analytic CSAT dataset (2010) . Each slide set shows in text, graphs and figures the same five broad categories of information: dataset description; general characteristics (environment, substance use, risk behaviors, sexual partners, psychiatric problems, victimization, crime, justice system involvement, major clinical problems), treatment needs and performance measures (ASAM dimensions), selected outcome measures (GPRA outcomes, 6 month abstinence, past month abstinence, recovery, NOMS outcomes), and a methods appendix (follow-up information, administration times and fidelity); information in each category is presented by demographic and treatment characteristics (gender, age group, race, level of care, treatment type, funding program, risk of homelessness, co-occurring disorders, substance use severity, and severity of victimization).
Level of Care Profiles - (Updated 9/15/2010) This Excel document presents preliminary tables and charts for analysis of characteristics and outcomes of the 2009 CSAT Adolescent Treatment data (including clients of all ages) by level of care. Charts can be produced for an individual level of care and for comparing two levels of care. These charts can be exported as a Power Point presentation using the Profiles_Template.ppt. (NOTE: Both files must be saved to the same location to allow this transfer.) GAIN Evaluation Manual (Updated October 2010) provides anyone using the GAIN for analysis or evaluation (including evaluators and analysts at locations that use the GAIN and those doing secondary analysis at universities or research facilities) with an overview of the common questions used in research and evaluation, information about how these questions might be answered using data from the GAIN, information about the types of data sets available, a summary of tools provided by or available through the GCC to assist with evaluation, and analytic memos describing common procedures and the syntax for running them using SPSS. The manual is a work in progress as the GCC continues to improve the instruments, software, and processes to meet the needs of agencies, clinicians, funders, and evaluators. Rasch Analysis of the Behavioral Complexity Scale - This report provides a brief psychometric analysis of the Behavioral Complexity Scale using the Rasch measurement model. Rasch Analysis of the Crime and Violence Scale - This report provides a brief psychometric analysis of the Crime and Violence Scale using the Rasch measurement model. Rasch Analysis of the Internal Mental Distress Scale - This report provides a brief psychometric analysis of the Internal Mental Distress Scale using the Rasch measurement model. Rasch Analysis of the Substance Problem Scale - This report provides a brief psychometric analysis of the Substance Problem Scale using the Rasch measurement model. Rasch Analysis of the HIV Risk Scale - This report provides a brief psychometric analysis of the HIV Risk Scale using the Rasch measurement model. Validation of the Current Withdrawal Scale (CWS) to the Rasch Measurement Model - This report provides a brief psychometric analysis of the Current Withdrawal Scale (CWS) using the Rasch measurement model. Validation of the Personality Coping Styles Scale (PCSS) to the Rasch Measurement Model - This report provides a brief psychometric analysis of the Personality Coping Styles Scale (PCSS) using the Rasch measurement model. Validation of the Treatment Satisfaction Scale_Likert to the Rasch Measurement Model - This report provides a brief psychometric analysis of the Treatment Satisfaction Scale_Likert (TxSS_L), formerly called the Treatment Satisfaction Index (TxSI), using the Rasch measurement model. Validation of the Readiness to Quit Scale to the Rasch Measurement Model GAIN Methods - This report provides a brief psychometric analysis of the Readiness to Quit Scale (RFQ) using the Rasch measurement model.
