Global Appraisal of Individual Needs (GAIN)

GAIN-M90 (Follow-up) version 5.5.0

The GAIN-M90 is a follow-up instrument designed for use every 90 days after the GAIN I - though it has questions that allow it to be used less frequently (e.g, every 6 or 12 months) as well.  The full version takes 60 minutes.  There is a core set of items (marked in the text with *) that can be administered in 25 minutes.

There are several program- or project-specific variations of this instrument and/or variations in what is considered "Core." The version available on this page is the most general one.  The APSS Site contains project-specific versions for programs funded by the Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (CSAT) and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF). A detailed list of earlier and project-specific versions is available in the GAIN Archive.
