Understanding, preventing and responding to the sensitive issue of sexual exploitation of clients by professional helpers is explored in this special report. Bill White looks at the variety of models which are used today to define and intervene in this problem. Many of the current models have inherent weaknesses associated with errors of fact while others respond to only limited elements of the problem. Bill White outlines a systems perspective which details multi-layered prevention and intervention strategies. Particular attention is paid to the influence of the organization's sexual culture and the high propensity for abuse of power within a closed, incestuous organization.
